The men who leave this world but whose legacy remains for generations are men who lived righteous and faithful lives. Were they perfect men? No. But, they were faithful men that acknowledged their imperfections and didn’t let their failures define their future. Men who are known for their rebelliousness are quickly forgotten and like the proverb says “the name of the wicked will rot.” Men of faith that lead their family spiritually are remembered and memories of him are a blessing to their families long after they are gone. Their families enjoy the memories they have of him and enjoy honoring him even after he is long gone.
This is the case for my grandpa, he was not a perfect man. But, the way he led and loved his family has left his children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren with enjoyment when honoring him years after his death.
Be upright brothers, live righteous lives and leave rotten names to those who practice unrighteousness!
