Sunday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m.
Important information:
All children ages birth to 5th grade are welcome to be in the Christmas program! The youngest children (up to age 2) will be cast as the “Baby Animals.” Non-walking children will be wheeled in riding a wagon pulled an adult. Able walking youngsters will follow the wagon being escorted by adults. After making it down the center aisle, parents will pick them up in the south east corner of the sanctuary (by the prayer room) then go back to their seats to enjoy the remainder of the program. The Baby Animals are welcome to dress up as animals walking toward the manger scene or in Christmas clothes. They will only be asked to attend the final dress rehearsal which will take place the morning of December 20 at 9am.
Children ages 3 through 5th grade will be cast as important people in the Nativity story, Angels, Animals, the Star Holder, or in the choir. All costumes will be provided with the exception of the Little Animals. The animals will be given masks, but we ask for clothes that will coordinate with the color of their mask be sent in no later than December 6th. The colors will either be black, grey, or light brown. If your child is cast as an animal and this is a hardship, please reach out to Christine. All other children will need to wear shirts and pants that will easily go under their costumes. Parents will be notified their child’s role after the first practice.
Children in the choir will also have an opportunity to say a memory verse if they choose to do so. Their verse will be sent home after the first practice. We would appreciate your support by helping your child memorize their memory verse.
All children will sing the first verse of the following songs; Away in a Manger, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and Joy to the World. The choir will sing the first verse of Silent Night.
Practices will begin November 15th during Children’s Church time during the 10am service. We will have a final dress rehearsal the morning of the program, December 20th at 9am.
A cookie reception will follow the service in the foyer.
